Four  Scholarships Awarded

Up to three scholarships of $500 each can be awarded annually by ACWHE to outstanding women in the field of higher education to be applied toward the pursuit of advanced degrees.  One of the three $500 scholarships will be awarded to an applicant from a two-year college in honor of the Arkansas Association of Women in Two-Year Colleges' (AAWTYC) support. 

ACWHE also awards the Sharon Eichenberger Scholarship each year in the amount of $750 to one applicant.

The deadline for the 2011-2012 scholarship application is March 12, 2012Recipients of awards must be in attendance of the spring meeting to receive award.

At the 2011 Spring ACWHE Symposium, the winners of the 2010-2011 scholarships were announced. 

$750 Sharon Eichenberger Scholarship

Robin G Roggio is pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Library and Information Science from the iSchool at Drexel University.  Ms. Roggio works as a Library Specialist in the Interlibrary Loan Department of the University of Arkansas Libraries at Fayetteville.

$500 ACWHE Scholarship Winners

Lea A. Mabry is in the doctoral program in Higher Education, Faculty track, at the University of Arkansas Little Rock. She is currently working on her dissertation.  Ms. Mabry currently works as the Co-Director of the College of Medicine in the Office of Continuing Medical Education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences

Jeannie Robinson plans to pursue an Ed.D in Higher Education Leadership at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.  Ms. Robinson's current position is Academic Advisor in the Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.

$500 Two-Year Institution Scholarship

Jamie Lynn Johnston is currently enrolled in at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She is pursuing a master of education in higher education, student affairs graduate program.  Ms. Johnston is an Enrollment Specialist at Northwest Arkansas Community College.


Current Arkansas Council for Women in Higher Education (ACWHE) Scholarship Committee members are ineligible to apply.  The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to make no award in any given year.
